EASTER HYMN    Christ the Lord Is Risen Today (United Methodist Hymn #302)
Stanza 1 & 2 by Organ and the Brass Band. Congregation joins to sing stanzas 3 & 4.
3 Lives again our glorious King, Al-le-lu-ia! Where, O death, is not thy sting? Al-le-lu-ia!
Once he died our souls to save, Al-le-lu-ia! Where’s thy victory, boasting grave? Al-le-lu-ia!
4 Soar we now where Christ had led, Al-le-lu-ia! Following our exalted Head, Al-le-lu-ia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Al-le-lu-ia! Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Al-le-lu-ia!
1 (with kids) Christ the Lord is risen today, Al-le-lu-ia! Earth and heaven in chorus say, Al-le-lu-ia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Al-le-lu-ia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Al-le-lu-ia!

OPENING PRAYER
Creator of Life, is raising Christ Jesus, up, through, out of , and beyond the chains of death,
You opened for us the way to eternal and abundant life.
May our Alleluias on this day float high above the ceiling of what we think we know
and transcend to the heaven of what we believe—and thus live.
Raise us up! Renew our lives! Resurrect our dreams! Through Jesus Christ our Living Savior, Amen.

SONGS OF ADORATION    In Christ Alone & Christ Our Hope in Life and Death
1 In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my light my strength my song.
This Cornerstone this solid Ground firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled when strivings cease.
My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand.

2 In Christ alone who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe,
This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied.
For every sin on Him was laid, here in the death of Christ I live

3 There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious Day, up from the grave He rose again.
And as He stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ

1 What is our hope in life and death? Christ alone, Christ alone
What is our only confidence? That our souls to him belong
Who holds our days within his hand? What comes, apart from his command?
And what will keep us to the end? The love of Christ, in which we stand

Chorus O sing hallelujah! Our hope springs eternal
O sing hallelujah! Now and ever we confess Christ our hope in life and death

2 What truth can calm the troubled soul? God is good, God is good
Where is his grace and goodness known? In our great Redeemer’s blood
Who holds our faith when fears arise? Who stands above the stormy trial?
Who sends the waves that bring us nigh Unto the shore, the rock of Christ? Repeat Chorus

3 Unto the grave, what will we sing? “Christ, he lives; Christ, he lives!”
And what reward will heaven bring? Everlasting life with him
And we will rise to meet the Lord, then sin and death will be destroyed
And we will feast in endless joy when Christ is ours forevermore Repeat Chorus 2 times

PRAYER OF THE PEOPLE
One: When we find ourselves wondering why loss has come, we can remember Jesus’ words
as he faced death: All: “I am the Resurrection and the Life.”
One: When we are tempted to give in to the lie that life will never change for us, Jesus says,
All: “I am the Resurrection and the Life.”
One: When life’s disappointments cause us to stumble, Jesus reminds us,
All: “I am the Resurrection and the Life.”
One: When we ask God to give us back something we’ve lost, Jesus reminds us to look forward, saying,
All: “I am the Resurrection and the Life.”
One: God works on both sides of the grave, giving us life now and life yet to come,
through Christ who said, All: “I am the Resurrection and the Life.” Amen.

SONG OF COMMITMENT      He Lives (United Methodist Hymn #310)
1 I serve a risen Saviour, He’s in the world today; I know that He is living, whatever men may say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, and just the time I need Him He’s always near.
Refrain He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart
2 In all the world around me I see His loving care, and though my heart grows weary I never will despair.
I know that He is leading, through all the stormy blast; the day of His appearing will come at last. Refrain
3 Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian Lift up your voice and sing, eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King.
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find none other is so loving, so good and kind. Refrain
