ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING Josh, Melissa & Chip Hall (8AM), Emma, Ian, & Ayla Bahr (10AM)
OPENING PRAYER
Dear God, you came down to assure us that you bring us life and never-ending joy.
Today, we have come to this place from a world of demands and schedules.
We have sought hope and peace and have found them here in you.
Now we seek the inner joy that only your presence can bring to our lives.
O Lord, let your people experience your provision
as we open our hearts and minds to your Spirit, Amen.
* SONGS OF ADVENT Joy To The World, Unspeakable Joy
Joy to the world! The Lord is come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room.
And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and heaven and nature sing.
Joy to the world, the Savior reigns. Let all their songs employ
while fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy. Repeat the sounding joy.
Repeat, Repeat, the sounding joy.
Chorus Joy, unspeakable joy! An overflowing well; No tongue can tell! Joy, unspeakable joy!
It rises in my soul, never lets me go!
He rules the world with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness, and wonders of His love;
And wonders of His love; And wonders, wonders of His love. Repeat Chorus
Heaven Everywhere
I hear the bells, they’re ringing loud and clear. You can’t help but love this time of year
It’s Christmastime, there’s something in the air. There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere
Somehow there’s a little more of love And maybe there’s a little less of us
Or maybe we’re just slightly more aware. There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere
It’s the smile on a man who has finally found hope
It’s the tears of a mother whose child has come home
It’s the joy that we feel and the love that we share
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere. There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere.
It’s funny how it takes a holiday to show us how the world could truly change
If we all took the time to really care. There’d be a little more of heaven everywhere
It’s the grace that we show to a world that needs hope
It’s giving our lives knowing they’re not our own
It’s the joy that we feel and the love that we share
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere. There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere
Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply echoing their joyous strains. Hallelujah, halleljuah
It’s the joy that we feel and the love that we share. There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere.
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere. There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere
Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing o’er the plain.

MESSAGE The Promise 3 – Zechariah, Joy Sealed
SONG OF FAITH Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee (United Methodist Hymnal #89)
1 Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love;
hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away.
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!
2 All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect thy rays,
stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea,
chanting bird and flowing fountain, call us to rejoice in thee.
3 Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest,
wellspring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine;
teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.
4 Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began;
love divine is reigning o’er us, binding all within its span.
Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife;
joyful music leads us sunward, in the triumph song of life.
