Sharing Love This Christmas – Local & Int’l
Men’s Winter Coat Drive
If you or anyone you know has a coat that they would like to donate to share the love of God with those in need, Madison Area Jail Ministry is accepting donations for Winter Coats for Jail Residents. We will collect coats here at the church office thru Sunday, Nov. 27.
Fleece Blankets for Lodi Santa Project
children size blankets for the Santa Project. New only please! They can be as simple as some of the fleece blankets you see on sale for a few dollars during the holiday season. A table in fellowship hall is available for your donations.
Christmas Cards to Those in the Military
We’d like to send Christmas cards out to family members in the military. Please let us know in the church office if you have someone we could send a card to. We also lift them up in prayer. The congregation will be invited to sign the cards on Sundays, December 4 and 11.
Giving Tree
The Mission Team has put up the Giving Tree in the Fellowship Hall. The tags on the tree now (as of Nov 22) are only for residents of Divine Rehabilitation & Nursing in Lodi yet. The tree will be decorated with more gift tag ornaments for children of Compassion International and for parents of new immigrant families in Lodi.
First, the gifts for the local nursing home must come under the tree by Sunday, December 4th, so that their Christmas party on the next day will be blessed with your gifts. The gifts are for specific residents. You may stop in church anytime and grab a tag or take one this Sunday. Please make sure to attach the tag to your gift. If you will not be in church during this very short time frame to purchase a gift for Divine Rehab, you may call the church office and we will provide you with some gift suggestions from the list.
It’s all hands on deck for a wrapping party between services from 9A-10A on Sunday, December 4. All gifts for Divine Rehab should be in. Let the wrapping begin!! Wrapping stations will be set up in the Fellowship Hall. The more the merrier! Tape & paper will be provided! What a special thing for the residents to receive these wonderful offerings from our church.
Other tags have been for gifts to children served by Compassion International and gifts for parents of new immigrant students in Lodi.
Christmas Offerings
You may designate a mission with your Christmas Offering. We present two missions prayerfully selected:
#2: to support the ministry of the Madison Area Jail Ministry (MAJM provides spiritual care and reentry support through a full-time chaplain and volunteers for the incarcerated. This is our continued mission partnership after collecting more than 30 men’s winter coats for MAJM)
#3: to provide sewing machines for women of faith in the Methodist Church in Bolivia. (They are in a sister relationship with the Wisconsin Conference of The UMC and currently have only one machine that is shared among 30 women who provide for their families and support their church. Each sewing machine costs US$450.)
