CALL TO WORSHIP Nada Zeimet (8AM)
One: The glory of God is around us
All: God is with us in the most testing times.
One: The glorious God reveals truth to us
All: In Jesus, we have the words that count, and the example to follow.
One: The glorious God is to be praised.
All: We will joyfully bring our prayers, our hymns, and our thanksgivings to God.

* HYMN OF ADORATION Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing (United Methodist Hymnal #400)
1. Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love.

2. Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by thy help I’m come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood.

3. O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love;
here’s my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.

PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
With gratitude for knowing that we are one in Christ, let us offer one another signs of Christ’s peace:
The peace of Christ be with you, always. And also with you.

Prayer for Our Offering
Beyond our understanding or imagining, you are for us and with us, O God.
These gifts are a pledge of our loyalty to you. Grant us wisdom and common sense as we use all you have entrusted to us. May your name be glorified and the Way of Jesus carefully and boldly followed. Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING

Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing[c] spirit.

Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

MESSAGE Beatitudes 5

HYMN OF FAITH Be Thou My Vision (United Methodist Hymnal #451)
1 Be thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

2 Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord.
Thou and thou only, first in my heart,
Great God of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

3 Great God of heaven, my victory won,
may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

OPENING SONGS AND WORDS (Please stand as you are able)

Here I Am to Worship
1 Light of the world, you stepped down into darkness, opened my eyes, let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore You, hope of a life spent with You.

Chorus Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You’re my God.
You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.

2 King of all days, Oh so highly exalted, glorious in heaven above.
Humbly You came to the earth You created, all for love’s sake became poor. Chorus

And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. Chorus

You Are My King
I’m forgiven because you were forsaken. I’m accepted. You were condemned.
I’m alive and well, your Spirit is within me because you died and rose again.
Amazing love, how can it be that you, my King, would die for me?
Amazing love, I know it’s true, and it’s my joy to honor you. In all I do, I honor you.
Jesus, you are my King! Jesus, you are my King!
Amazing love, how can it be that you, my King, would die for me?
Amazing love, I know it’s true, and it’s my joy to honor you.
In all I do, I honor you. In all I do, I honor you.

One: It is a mystery, O God, your creation of this wonderful world. (Dennis Crow)
All: We come before you, thankful for the gift of life.
One: It is a mystery, O God, your presence known by the people of ancient days.
All: We come before you as a chosen people.
One: It is a mystery, O God, your gradually revealed love for all humankind.
All: We come before you, rejoicing that your love endures.
One: It is a mystery, O God, your supreme gift to the world in Jesus Christ.
All: We come before you as those whose saving acts will reflect the Savior. Amen.

SONG OF FAITH Nothing but the Blood (United Methodist Hymnal #362)
1 What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain O precious is the flow that makes me bright as snow;
no other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2 For my pardon this I see: nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my cleansing this my plea: nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

3 Nothing can for sin atone: nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Naught of good that I have done: nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

4 This is all my hope and peace: nothing but the blood of Jesus.
This is all my righteousness: nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]
