* HYMN OF ADORATION   There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy (United Methodist Hymn #121)
1 There’s a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea
there’s a kindness in God’s justice, which is more than liberty.

2 There is welcome for the sinner, and more graces for the good!
There is mercy with the Savior there is healing in his blood.

3 For the love of God is broader than the measure of our mind
and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.

4 If our love were but more simple, we should rest upon God’s word
and our lives would be illumined by the presence of our Lord.

MESSAGE    Beatitudes 4

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION

INVITATION
Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another, as merciful as the Heavenly Father does. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

CONFESSION AND PARDON
Lord our God, your Son Jesus Christ taught us that in Your kingdom,
“Blessed are the poor in spirit” – but we have been rich in pride.
“Blessed are those who mourn” – but we have not known much sorrow for our sin.
“Blessed are the meek” – but we have been too arrogant and stubborn to imitate you.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness” – but we have little longing for Your true goodness. “Blessed are the merciful” – but we are harsh and impatient.
“Blessed are the pure in heart” – but we have impure hearts.
“Blessed are the peacemakers” – but we’ve not sought reconciliation.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake” – but our lives do not challenge the world.
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me” – but we have hardly made it known that we are yours.
Lord, have mercy on us and forgive us all our sins. Renew us and lead us by your Holy Spirit
so that we may seek first your kingdom and your righteousness and walk joyfully in the way of Your blessing. All pray in silence.
Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinner; that proves God’s love toward us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Glory to God.

THE PEACE
Let us offer one another signs of reconciliation and love. All exchange signs and words of God’s peace.

OFFERING
As forgiven and reconciled people, let us offer ourselves and our gifts to God. Present our gifts.
Lord, who feeds the hungry, celebrates the small and insignificant, and says “Follow Me”
May these offerings speak to our community and beyond
that you are our Lord and Savior, the meaning of life.
May our faith in you and commitment to following you
be shown in what we say and do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING    Please open United Methodist Hymnal in your pew to page 13.
The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. (continues)

THE LORD’S PRAYER.
BREAKING THE BREAD. GIVING THE BREAD AND CUP.

SONG DURING THE COMMUNION  You Satisfy the Hungry Heart United Methodist Hymn #629
You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat. Come, give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat.
1 As when the shepherd calls his sheep, they know and heed his voice,
so when you call your family, Lord, we follow and rejoice. [Refrain]
2 With joyful lip we sing to you our praise and gratitude,
that you should count us worthy, Lord, to share this heavenly food. [Refrain]
3 Is not the cup we bless and share the blood of Christ outpoured?
Do not one cup, one loaf, declare our oneness in the Lord? [Refrain]

DISMISSAL WITH BLESSING

HYMN OF SENDING FORTH  Sent Forth by God’s Blessing (United Methodist Hymnal #664)
1 Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing, the people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended, O now be extended the fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of the teaching, receptive souls reaching, shall blossom in action for god and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us to work for God’s kingdom and answer the call.

2 With praise and thanksgiving to God ever living, the tasks of our everyday life we will face.
Our faith ever sharing, in love ever caring, embracing God’s children of each tribe and race.
With your grace you feed us, with your light now lead us, unite us as one in this life that we share.
Then may all the living with praise and thanksgiving give honor to Christ and that name which we bear.

OPENING SONGS AND WORDS

Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me (please stand as able)
CCLI Song # 7121852 Jonny Robinson | Michael Farren | Rich Thompson © 2018 CityAlight Music (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing
1 What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer. There is no more for heaven now to give
He is my joy my righteousness and freedom. My steadfast love my deep and boundless peace
To this I hold my hope is only Jesus for my life is wholly bound to his
Oh how strange and divine I can sing all is mine. Yet not I but through Christ in me

2 The night is dark but I am not forsaken for by my side the Savior he will stay
I labor on in weakness and rejoicing for in my need his power is displayed
To this I hold my Shepherd will defend me through the deepest valley he will lead
Oh the night has been won and I shall overcome. Yet not I but through Christ in me

3 No fate I dread I know I am forgiven. The future sure the price it has been paid
For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon, and he was raised to overthrow the grave
To this I hold my sin has been defeated. Jesus now and ever is my plea
Oh the chains are released I can sing I am free. Yet not I but through Christ in me

4 With every breath I long to follow Jesus for he has said that he will bring me home
And day by day I know he will renew me until I stand with joy before the throne
To this I hold my hope is only Jesus. All the glory evermore to him
When the race is complete still my lips shall repeat. Yet not I but through Christ in me (Repeat)
Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Refrain only)
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see
all I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

SONG OF FAITH
Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) CCLI Song # 4768151 © 2006 sixsteps Music | Vamos Publishing
1 Amazing grace how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind, but now I see.
2 ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed.
Refrain My chains are gone, I’ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns, unending love, amazing grace.
3 The Lord has promised good to me. His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures. [Refrain two times]
