Sunday Worship. Oct 31, 8&10AM. Online/In-Person
We are visiting stories of lesser-known characters in the Bible
and learn how their stories help us grow to greater heights and depths in our walk with God.
We are not much different from them.
The truth is that being faithful to mundane tasks in life has an eternal significance.
Come and worship – online or in-person. Sing from your heart. Engage in Scripture. Listen to the Spirit.
Both of our 8&10AM services continue to be livestreamed https://www.facebook.com/LodiUMC

* OPENING PRAYER
Great is our God, and worthy of praise!
God’s goodness knows no limit;
God’s faithfulness toward us is boundless!
God, your majesty and glory surround us here.
We’ve come together to celebrate your presence, and to offer songs of praise and worship.
We’ve come to rejoice in your mighty acts, and to retell the story of your goodness throughout history and in our own lives.
Move among us as we worship together;
May your Spirit guide and inspire our thoughts and actions as we spend this time in your presence.
In the name of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
* MEDLEY OF ADORATION Holy Spirit. Graves into Gardens
There’s nothing worth more that will ever come close.
Nothing can compare; You’re our living hope. Your presence.
I’ve tasted and seen, of the sweetest of loves, where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone, in Your Presence, Lord.
Chorus Holy Spirit, you are welcome here; Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere; Your Glory, God, is what our hearts long for, to be overcome by your presence, Lord. Your presence, Lord. Repeat All
Bridge Let us become more aware of Your presence;
Let us experience the glory of Your goodness. Repeat Bridge and Chorus

I searched the world, but it couldn’t fill me.
Man’s empty praise and treasures that fade are never enough.
Then You came along and put me back together.
And every desire is now satisfied here in Your love.
Chorus Oh, there’s nothing better than You. There’s nothing better than You.
Lord, there’s nothing, nothing is better than You. Oh.
I’m not afraid to show You my weakness
My failures and flaws, Lord, You’ve seen ’em all and You still call me friend.
‘Cause the God of the mountain is the God of the valley.
There’s not a place your mercy and grace won’t find me again. Repeat Chorus
You turn mourning to dancing. You give beauty for ashes.
You turn shame into glory. You’re the only one who can.
You turn graves into garden. You turn bones into armies.
You turn seas into highways. You’re the only one who can. Repeat Chorus

MESSAGE Lessons from Lesser Knowns in the Bible (2): Jonathan, Saul’s son and David’s friend
SONG OF FAITH What a Friend We Have in Jesus (United Methodist Hymn #526)
1 What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
2 Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
3 Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there.
