CALL TO WORSHIP
Come, sing praises to God! Rejoice in his presence!
For he is our God: a Father to the fatherless, and the defender of all who need protection;
the One in whom the lonely find a home, and the prisoner finds release.
Bless the Lord, the God of our salvation, who sustains and strengthens us, day after day!
We worship God together!

HYMN OF ADORATION    Heart of Worship    God, You’re So Good
When the music fades, all is stripped away, and I simply come.
Longing just to bring something that’s of worth that will bless Your heart.

Refrain I’ll bring You more than a song for a song in itself is not what You have required
You search much deeper within through the way things appear, you’re looking into my heart.
I’m coming back to the heart of worship, and it’s all about You, it’s all about You, Jesus.
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it, when it’s all about You, it’s all about You, Jesus.

King of endless worth, no one could express how much You deserve
though I’m weak and poor, all I have is Yours, every single breath. Repeat Refrain

Amazing love that welcomes me. The kindness of mercy
that bought with blood, wholeheartedly my soul undeserving

Chorus 1 God, You’re so good, Oh God, You’re so good. God, You’re so good. You’re so good to me.

Behold the cross, age to age, and hour by hour
The dead are raised, the sinner saved, the work of Your power. Repeat Chorus 1

Chorus 2 I am blessed, I am called, I am healed, I am whole, I am saved in Jesus’ name.
Highly favored, anointed, filled with Your power, for the glory of Jesus’ name. Repeat Chorus 2

And should this life bring suffering, Lord, I will remember
what Calvary has bought for me both now and forever. Repeat Chorus 1

PRAYER FOR FATHERS    words on the screen
All: God our Father, from the beginning we have known you as “Father” and all our families have their origin in you. Now in union with one another, we give you thanks and offer prayers for our earthly fathers – young and old, past and present, near and far.
Six Voices of Prayer
All: We pray for those among us who still carry the bitterness and pain from the relationship with their father. Help them to be healed and to move forward with peace of heart. May the love that we’ve learned from caring fathers draw us ever nearer to you and continue to nurture us. In your holy name, we pray, Amen.

Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts!
Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Prayer of Dedication
God of the universe, thank you that your promises are sure, you are faithful, we can rely on you. Your word says that we will find joy in offering our time, talents, and money to meet the needs of others. As we give freely, sacrificially and cheerfully towards the work of your kingdom, may we be filled with all the fullness of God. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING   Matthew 5:13-20
“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

MESSAGE    Sermon on the Mount (3)

SONG OF FAITH    This Little Light of Mine (United Methodist Hymn #585)
1 This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
2 Hide in under a bushel – No!
3 Jesus gave it to me
4 (On Monday) He gave me the gift of love, I’m gonna let it shine,
(On Tuesday) peace came from above, I’m gonna let it shine,
(On Wednesday) told me to have more faith, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
(On Thursday) Jesus gave me more grace, I’m gonna let it shine,
(On Friday) told me to watch and pray, I’m gonna let it shine,
(On Saturday) told me what to say, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
5 Ev’rywhere I go, I’m gonna let it shine. Even in my home, I’m gonna let it shine.
Every day I live, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
