Sunday Worship. April 25. Easter 4. In-Person & Online

Easter is not over. Easter is not a single day. We have begun an extended celebration of Christ’s Resurrection.
In the season of Easter, we rejoice and experience what it means when we say Christ is risen.
This Sunday with the worship series: God and Gardens,
we go to the Garden of Eden where we all began in our life with God and with one another.

Your sanctuary is open for your participation in corporate worship at 8 & 10AM in a safe environment,
where wearing a face mask is expected, social distancing is practiced,
and UV lights in the duct with the improved air ventilation is running to disinfect air in the gathering space.
Between the two service, sprays a disinfectant registered on the EPA List N for use against COVID-19 virus.

Both services continue to be livestreamed
and are available on FM 103.5 channel at the locations within a half mile away from the church.

Please observe a day of worship and reflection on Sunday wherever you are.

Order of Worship
April 25, 2021

In the beginning God created all things, and God saw that they were good.

At our beginning, God created us
unique and irreplaceable, loved and wanted by God,
known and treasured by God even before He created us.

In all our new beginnings, God creates something new
so we will seek God in the freshness of this morning,
in the laughter of friends, and in the colors of creation.

Lord God, King of Creation,
open our eyes to see your presence, our souls to sense your presence,
and our hearts to love your presence,
ever here in your creation, and ever beyond it in eternity. Amen.

HYMN OF ADORATION    This Is My Father’s World (United Methodist Hymn #144)

1 This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas–His hand the wonders wrought.

2 This is my Father’s world: the birds their carols raise,
the morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

3 This is my Father’s world: O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world: Why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King: let the heavens ring! God reigns; let earth be glad!

Prayer of Dedication
Almighty God, Maker of heaven and earth, we thank you that you provide for us financially, you provide for us spiritually, and you provide for us in so many other ways. Thank you for the privilege of partnering with you and each other in the work of the life-giving ministry. Blessed Lord, we give you our tithes and offerings now, but more importantly, we give you our love and our commitment. May our sincere desire to be faithful stewards bring joy to your heart and our hearts. Amen.

SPECIAL MUSIC   Inspired with the image of a garden Tracy Greer, cello

SCRIPTURE READING Genesis 2:7-8, 16-18, 3:1
The Lord God formed the human from the topsoil of the fertile land and blew life’s breath into his nostrils. The human came to life. The Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east and put there the human he had formed… The Lord God commanded the human, “Eat your fill from all of the garden’s trees; but don’t eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because on the day you eat from it, you will die!” Then the Lord God said, “It’s not good that
the human is alone. I will make him a helper that is perfect for him.”… The snake was the most intelligent of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say that you shouldn’t eat from any tree in the garden?”

MESSAGE    Garden of Eden: A Place God Created For Us

SONG OF COMMITMENT   For the Beauty of the Earth (United Methodist Hymn #92)
1. For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth over and around us lies;
Refrain Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

2. For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night,
hill and vale, and tree and flower, sun and moon, and stars of light; (Refrain)

3. For the joy of ear and eye, for the heart and mind’s delight,
for the mystic harmony linking sense to sound and sight; (Refrain)

4. For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild; (Refrain)

5. For thy church, that evermore lifteth holy hands above,
offering up on every shore her pure sacrifice of love; (Refrain)

6. For thyself, best Gift Divine, to the world so freely given,
for that great, great love of thine, peace on earth, and joy in heaven: (Refrain)
