Sunday Worship. April 18. Easter 3. In-Person & Online

Easter is not over. Easter is not a single day. We have begun an extended celebration of Christ’s Resurrection.
In the season of Easter, we rejoice and experience what it means when we say Christ is risen.
This Sunday with the worship series: God and Gardens,
we go to the Garden of Gethsemane. Where is your place to go for a time of prayer?

Your sanctuary is open for your participation in corporate worship at 8 & 10AM in a safe environment,
where wearing a face mask is expected, social distancing is practiced,
and UV lights in the duct with the improved air ventilation is running to disinfect air in the gathering space.
Between the two service, sprays a disinfectant registered on the EPA List N for use against COVID-19 virus.

Both services continue to be livestreamed
and are available on FM 103.5 channel at the locations within a half mile away from the church.

Please observe a day of worship and reflection on Sunday wherever you are.

Rise up, people of prayer!
Let us pray and seek God’s will.

Let us faithfully follow God’s will.
Rise up, people of Christ!

HYMN OF ADORATION     Graves Into Gardens      Amazing Love (You Are My King)

I searched the world, but it couldn’t fill me.
Man’s empty praise and treasures that fade are never enough.
Then You came along and put me back together.
And every desire is now satisfied here in Your love.

Chorus Oh, there’s nothing better than You. There’s nothing better than You.
Lord, there’s nothing, nothing is better than You. Oh.

I’m not afraid to show You my weakness
My failures and flaws, Lord, You’ve seen ’em all and You still call me friend.
‘Cause the God of the mountain is the God of the valley.
There’s not a place your mercy and grace won’t find me again. Repeat Chorus

You turn mourning to dancing. You give beauty for ashes.
You turn shame into glory. You’re the only one who can.

You turn graves into garden. You turn bones into armies.
You turn seas into highways. You’re the only one who can. Repeat Chorus

I’m forgiven because You were forsaken. I’m accepted, You were condemned.
And I’m alive and well, Your spirit is within me, because You died and rose again. (Repeat)

Amazing love, how can it be, that You, my King, should die for me?
Amazing love and I know it’s true. And it’s my joy to honor You.
Amazing love and I know it’s true. And it’s my joy to honor You, in all I do to honor You.
You are my King. You are my King. Jesus, You are my King. You are my King
Amazing love, how can it be, that You, my King, should die for me?
Amazing love and I know it’s true. And it’s my joy to honor you. In all I do I honor you.

He came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed
him. When he reached the place, he said to them, ‘Pray that you may not come into the time of
trial.’ Then he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed, ‘Father, if
you are willing, remove this cup from me; yet, not my will but yours be done.’ Then an angel from
heaven appeared to him and gave him strength. In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and
his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground. When he got up from
prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief, and he said to them,
‘Why are you sleeping? Rise up and pray that you may not come into the time of trial.’

MESSAGE    Garden of Gethsemane: A Place of Prayer

SONG OF COMMITMENT    Have Thine Own Way, Lord (United Methodist Hymn #382)
1. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Thou art the potter; I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.
2. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Search me and try me, Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord, wash me just now, as in thy presence humbly I bow.
3. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Wounded and weary, help me I pray!
Power, all power, surely is thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!
4. Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Hold o’er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me!
