PRELUDE   by Tracy Greer, cello. Rhea Lind, piano

OPENING LITANY OF PRAISE
When the world seems to be no longer a paradise
and we are brought down to size on this small planet of ours, we worship.
When the memories linger of the past,
and dullness and separation become a story of life, we worship.
When the way is more barren than beautiful,
when the path is more a climb than a stroll, we worship.
We worship because we can
We worship because we hope
We worship because we know our vulnerability
When things shift and we need to hang on, we worship
It is the only strength we have for the journey, welcome to Lent.

HYMN OF ADORATION     Here I Am to Worship    &   Who You Say I Am
Verse 1 Light of the world, You stepped down into darkness, opened my eyes let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore You, hope of a life spent with You

Chorus So here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to say that You’re my God.
And You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me

Verse 2 King of all days, oh so highly exalted, glorious in heaven above.
Humbly You came to the earth You created, all for love’s sake became poor. Chorus

Bridge And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross
And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. Chorus

Verse 2 Free at last, He has ransomed me, His grace runs deep.
While I was a slave to sin, Jesus died for me, Yes He died for me. Chorus 1

Pastoral Prayer

TIME OF DEDICATION Thank you for sharing your gifts with God’s world through your church.
Jesus, teach me to be generous, to serve you as you deserve: to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to look for any reward, save that of knowing that I do your holy will. Amen.    by St. Ignatius of Loyola

SCRIPTURE READING    Exodus 3:13-15
But Moses said to God, “If I come to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” He said further, “Thus you shall say to the Israelites, ‘I am has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you’: This is my name forever, and this my title for all generations.

SONG OF FAITH      Who Am I
Verse 1 Who am I that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt
Who am I that the Bright and Morning Star would choose to light the way for my ever wand’ring heart

Chorus Not because of who I am, but because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done, but because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean, A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling, Lord, You catch me when I’m falling
And You’ve told me who I am. I am Yours.

Verse 2 Who am I that the eyes that see my sin would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who am I that the voice that calmed the sea would call out through the rain and calm the storm in me
Chorus
