United Methodist Women March Activities..!!

All are welcome to join us.  We also are interested in helping any women form a new circle.  We are often asked what are we about.  The United Methodist Women have always been about mission:  local, state, national and international.   The Women’s Division supports a large share of the mission projects of the United Methodist Church.  We, as a local unit make a pledge to the district each year to help carry on mission work.  When a member passes away, a gift to mission is sent in her memory.  We also can get cards for birthdays, etc., for $5 each and the card is sent to the person stating money has been sent to mission in their name.  If you have interest in finding out more about the mission cards, ask at our Market Day (the first Sunday of each month), or call Kay Putman (592-2294).  Please feel free to join us anytime or if you have any ideas for us, feel free to let us know.

World Day of Prayer

March 5, 2010 at 1:00

This year the United Methodist Women will host the World Day of Prayer service in the Lodi area.  The 2010 service written by the women of Cameroon in West Africa takes its opening from Psalm 150 and begins the way the psalm does “Praise God.”

This year's theme, "Let Everything That Has Breath Praise God," takes its cue from Psalm 150 and begins the way the Psalm does, “Praise God.”  Through this invocation, God is called up as “…our refuge and strength, ever ready to help, strengthen, guide and enlighten us in times of joy and sadness.

Wherever we find ourselves in life, we also find God’s unconditional love.  Blessed with great cultural wealth, this perspective of God's unconditional love is at the very core of the Cameroonian capacity to praise God.

On March 5, 2010, we will join with people all over the earth and with all of creation. Together we will fulfill the call of Psalm 150: Let everything that has breath praise God.  We anticipate yet another wonderful service which the World Day of Prayer Committee in Cameroon has prepared for us.

Let's turn our prayers into action..!!
