Offering
Options
Many of us use a “direct debit”, “ACH”,
online banking, debit cards, or automatic payment for paying our bills.
We have recently begun offering a direct
debit from your bank account for your weekly or monthly offering.
Any money collected from the direct debit
will go into the Operating Fund, just as your offering envelope on Sunday
morning would.
If you want to do
this, please contact Cindy Wipperfurth
at 635-7241, our Financial Secretary to set this up.

REPLENISH
THE EARTH & LODI FOOD PANTRY
May
2, 2010
The Outreach Committee has
ordered trees and shrubs from the Sauk County Land Conservation Tree and
Prairie Seed Sale. Make a donation of one, two or three items to the food
pantry and take one of these beautiful young trees home.
On Sunday May 2nd
bring your food pantry items to church. Trees will be distributed
between services. The tree roots will be wrapped in a small plastic
bag with shredded paper to keep them moist. To ensure your trees
health please plant your tree promptly! There will be 25 of each
tree/shrub available.
25
American Arborvitae (Northern White Cedar) - Northern White
Cedar- (size 12”- 18”) Grows best in moist to wet soils, in full to
partial sun. Average height is 40’. Has flat, scale-like
yellow-green aromatic needles and 1/3”- ½” cones.
25 American Plum
(size 18”-24”) - Grows best in moist, fertile soils, in full to partial
sun. Average mature height is 10’-20’. Characterized as a
small tree or large shrub. White flowers in early May. Edible fruit-
red or yellow. Very hardy and drought resistant.
25 Birch-Paper
(size 18”-24”) - These medium-sized, fast growing trees develop best on
well-drained, sandy loams on cool moist sites. Paper Birch rarely
lives more than 140 years. The handsome foliage and showy white bark
make the trees attractive for landscaping.
25 American Hazelnut
shrubs (size 18”-24”) - Grows best in moist soil, full to
partial sun. Average height is 8’ with a spread of 6’.
Produces small, flavorful edible nuts in autumn, also known as
filberts. The leaves are green, turning orange-yellow in autumn.
The food pantry is overrun with
canned vegetables and soups, as well as macaroni and cheese. The staff
offered suggestions of items that are needed. As some items that they
are short of are pricey we broke them down into categories of one item
donation, two item donation or three item donation.
1 Item donations: Laundry
detergent, Diapers
2 Item donations: Toilet paper,
Juices, Canned chicken, Peanut butter & jelly (bring them together!),
Coffee
3 Item donations: Hand
soap & shampoo, Ketchup, Canned tuna or salmon, Canned main dishes
(i.e. stew, spaghetti'Os)
Please remember that these are just guidelines - As always
your generosity is appreciated..!!
Take part in another great program & order LUMC SCRIP
to make your food pantry purchases!
The Outreach Committee is excited about this
project - imagine this congregation alone putting 100 trees into the earth
and 100+ items into the Lodi food pantry!!
Thank you in advance for taking part in
these two great programs!!

Elevator
Update -
April 2010
The elevator has become
operational - and the total spent was about $95,000, about $12,000 less than
estimated thanks to the work of our team of volunteers consisting of church
members and friends of the church.
On
Sunday, April 18th, we will close each of our worship services
with a dedication of the new elevator

Schmiedlin, Construction Committee Chair

A Big Thank You to
Endres
Manufacturing Company
By now you have certainly
noticed all the painting that has been done upstairs and downstairs.
This painting has been done by Charlie Oldroyd and Gene Button, employees of
Endres Manufacturing Company, Waunakee, WI, at ZERO labor cost to us.
Endres Manufacturing offers their employees the option of working for a
non-profit organization during the time would be laid-off from regular
employment.
We hope and pray that Charlie
and Gene as well as other employees of Endres Manufacturing are able to get
back to regular employment soon! We really appreciate all the work
they have done for us this last couple of months!
