Sunday May 24, Online and Drive-in Worship_FINISHED

This is our last Sunday with the sermon series on Psalm 23.
With this series, hopefully you have had opportunities to read and meditate on this psalm
and experience its message comes alive to you.

Take intentional action to prepare yourself for a sacred time, i.e. moving to a different spot, or tidying up the surroundings, or taking deep breaths as you feel the inhales and exhales.
Prepare a candle and your Bible, and place them and also your viewing device in a stand on the table.

Order of Worship
May 24, 2020

Loving Shepherd, you know our names; you care for us.
When we face darkness and death, you walk beside us.
When we are fearful, you dispel our fears with your love.
When we hunger in our souls, you fill us with your presence.
Here are your people, weak and frail in many ways
but strong in faith and steadfast in our love of you.

We praise and thank you for your abundant spirit.
Goodness and love unfailing, these will follow us all the days of our lives,
and we shall dwell in the home of our God for all eternity. Amen.

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
Verse  Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found. Was blind, but now I see
Verse  ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear and grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear. The hour I first believed

Chorus  My chains are gone. I’ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me.
And like a flood His mercy rains. Unending love, Amazing grace.

Verse  The Lord has promised good to me. His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures. Repeat Chorus

Mighty to Save
Chorus   Savior, he can move the mountains My God is mighty to save. He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation, he rose and conquered the grave. Jesus conquered the grave. Repeat Chorus

Bridge  Shine your light, and let the whole world see. We’re singing for the glory of the risen King. Jesus.
Shine your light, and let the whole world see. We’re singing for the glory of the risen King. Chorus

SPECIAL MUSIC   Whom Shall I Fear
Verse   You hear me when I call. You are my morning song.
Though darkness fills the night, it cannot hide the light. Whom shall I fear?
You crush the enemy underneath my feet.
You are my sword and shield, though troubles linger still. Whom shall I fear?
Chorus   I know who goes before me, I know who stands behind;
The God of angel armies is always by my side!
The one who reigns forever, He is a friend of mine.
The God of angel armies is always by my side!
Verse   My strength is in your name, for you alone can save.
You will deliver me. Yours is the victory. Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? Chorus
Bridge   And nothing formed against me shall stand!
You hold the whole world in your hands. I’m holding on to your promises;
You are faithful, You are faithful Chorus

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

GOSPEL READING – Luke 24:50-53 (In the Church Calendar, Ascension of the Lord was celebrated this week)
Then he [Jesus] led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy; and they were continually in the temple blessing God.

3. I need thee every hour, in joy or pain; come quickly, and abide, or life is vain. Refrain

4. I need thee every hour; teach me thy will, and thy rich promises in me fulfill. Refrain

Thank you for sharing your gifts with God’s world through your church. As you prepare your offering, say a prayer. Out of gratitude for your love, we offer our gifts to you, O Lord. May your work of caring be extended to those in need and that they may walk with you and live by faith.

Stay well and see you next Sunday.
God’s goodness surrounds you all around. May you be satisfied in living and worship in the dwelling of God.
