May you feel the Spirit of our Lord breathes comfort and consolation
as you recite this best-loved Psalm over and over.

Take intentional action to prepare yourself for a sacred time, i.e. moving to a different spot, or tidying up the surroundings, or taking deep breaths as you feel the inhales and exhales.
Prepare a candle and your Bible, and place them and also your viewing device in a stand on the table.

Order of Worship
May 3, 2020

We join together to worship God, the Shepherd of our souls,
the one who has created us, who sustains us, who redeems us,
who walks beside us in good times and bad, and who calls us to follow.
This is our God! Let’s worship Him together!

SONG OF PRAISE     Our God Saves & Days of Elijah
In the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, in the name of the Spirit, Lord, we come.
We’re gathered together to lift up Your Name to call on our Savior to fall on Your grace. Repeat all

Hear the joyful sound of our offering as Your saints bow down, as Your people sing
We will rise with You, lifted on Your wings, and the world will see that

Our God saves, our God saves. There is hope in Your name.
Our God saves, our God saves. There is hope in Your name. Repeat all.

Mourning turns to songs of praise, Our God saves, our God saves. (to “Hear the joyful sound…”)

1. These are the days of Elijah, declaring the word of the Lord
And these are the days of Your servant Moses, righteousness being restored.
And though these are days of great trial, of famine and darkness and sword,
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying “Prepare ye the way of the Lord!”

Chorus) Behold He comes riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call,
Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee, and out of Zion’s hill salvation comes.

2. These are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming as flesh,
And these are the days of Your servant David, rebuilding a temple of praise.
These are the days of the harvest, the fields are as white in Your world,
And we are the laborers in Your vineyard, declaring the word of the Lord! Chorus

There’s no God like Jehovah. repeat

SONG OF FAITH     Psalm 23 (Surely Goodness, Surely Mercy)
Verse 1 The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want
In green pastures He makes me lie down, He restores my soul and leads me on
For His name for His great name

Chorus Surely goodness surely mercy Right beside me all my days
And I will dwell in Your house forever And bless Your holy name

Bridge And even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil
(And) even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death You are on my side Repeat Bridge

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

GOSPEL READING  –  John 10:10b-15a
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away—and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. The hired hand runs away because a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father.

SONG OF SENDING FORTH    The King of Love My Shepherd Is (UM Hymnal #138)
1. The King of love my shepherd is,
whose goodness faileth never.
I nothing lack if I am his,
and he is mine forever.

3. Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed,
but yet in love he sought me;
and on his shoulder gently laid,
and home, rejoicing, brought me.

Before you mail your offering or make it online, you may say a prayer such as: God, live in and through this gift we send forth for the mission and ministry of our beloved church that we may bring new life and hope into the lives of the fearful.

Stay well and see you next Sunday online at our livestream service.

Your God the good shepherd is at your side. You are loved.
