SONGS OF PREPARATION    with Praise Team
10,000 Reasons — Way Maker
Chorus Bless the Lord oh my soul, oh- my soul. Worship His Holy name.
Sing like never before, oh my soul. I’ll worship Your Holy name.
1. The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning,
it’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes. (Chorus)
2. You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find (Chorus)
3. And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore (Chorus)
I’ll worship Your Holy name (x2)

1. You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, working in this place
I worship You, I worship You
Chorus You are Way-maker, Miracle worker
Promise keeper, Light in the darkness, my God,
that is who You are x2
2. You are here, touching every heart
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, healing every heart

You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working repeat
(Chorus)

EASTER WITNESS    with Joan Gehrke, Mary’s Monologue (inspired by John 20: 1-18)

CALL TO WORSHIP    with Praise Team
This is the news: (All) Jesus is risen!
This is the moment: (All) Jesus is alive!
This is the gospel: (All) Jesus is with us!
Two altar candles are brought in.
(One) Jesus is the light of the world! (One) The light shines in the darkness and the darkness shall not overcome it.
(All) Shine in and through us, O Risen Lord!
With the altar Bible,
(One) Jesus is the truth and the way.
(All) Teach us the truth that makes us free. Show us the way that leads to life.
With a bowl of water,
(One) Jesus is the living water. Come to the water all who are thirsty and weary.
(All) We come to be renewed in your presence, O Source of Life.
With a loaf of bread on a tray and a chalice of juice,
(One) Jesus is the bread of life. He nurtures and feeds us with his own life.
(All) Sustain us in all the wilderness through which we travel.
With a cross,
(One) Jesus… his name is love. On Easter we see what love has done. He walked a painful road to the Cross, shared living water and bread of life, and brought salvation to the world by his death and resurrection. Christ is risen.
(All) He is risen indeed!

SONG OF PRAISE    UM Hymnal #302, Christ the Lord Is Risen Today (stanzas 1, 3, 6)
1. Christ the Lord is risen today, Al—le-lu-ia! Earth and heaven in chorus say, Al—le-lu-ia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Al—le-lu-ia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Al—le-lu-ia!
3. Lives again our glorious King, Al—le-lu-ia! Fought the fight, the battle won, Al—le-lu-ia!
Once he died our souls to save, Al—le-lu-ia! Where’s thy victory, boasting grave? Al—le-lu-ia!
6. King of glory, soul of bliss, Al—le-lu-ia! Everlasting life is this, Al—le-lu-ia!
Thee to know, thy power to prove, Al—le-lu-ia! Thus to sing, and thus to love, Al—le-lu-ia!

SCRIPTURE READING Matthew 28:8-10
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

EASTER MESSAGE – Pastor Peace

SONG OF PRAYER In Christ Alone — Beautiful Savior

1 In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light my strength my song
This Cornerstone this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love what depths of peace
When fears are stilled when strivings cease
My Comforter my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

2 In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

3 There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

4 No guilt in life no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

Fair are the meadows, Fairer the woodlands, Robed in the flowers of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.
Beautiful Savior! Lord of the nations! Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration, Now and forever more be Thine!

DEDICATION OF OUR LIVES
Say what each person can do as they alter their lives in response to what the Spirit of God speaks to them today. After everyone shares their words of dedication, the leader may say “Go and do this.”

Offerings can be mailed to the church to support the mission/ministry of the church near and far,
and you can also give online at www.LodiUMC.org/give. It’s very convenient and mobile-device friendly.
